Wildcampen ist in weiten Teilen Europas verboten. Viele Länder erheben sogar offizell hohe Geldstrafen, wenn ich auch noch von niemandem gehört habe, dass diese durchgesetzt wurden. Um auf deinem Wildcampingplatz geduldet zu werden, solltest du den 6 goldenen Regeln des Wildcampen folgen. Tipps einen Wildcamping Platz zu finden

Der einfachste Weg einen Übernachtungsplatz zu finden ist diese App. Besonders in Städten und in sehr touristischen Gegenden kann sie sehr nützlich sein, wenn sie auch lange kein Geheimnis mehr ist. Lange Zeit stand an dieser Stelle "teile neue Plätze", doch diese Meinung habe ich geändert. Einmal online kann ein Platz nicht mehr gelöscht werden und wird schnell von rücksichtslosen Campern überrannt.

Ist eine Offlinekarte mit (gewöhnungsbedürftiger) Navigation. Interessant für Camper ist die Option der "Parkplatzsuche". Viele dieser Parkplätze sind potentielle Über-Nacht-Stellplätze. Wenn kein Parkplatz markiert ist, suche ich nach braun gestrichelten Linien, die Wanderwege markieren. Wo ein Wanderweg auf eine Straße trifft gibt es oft eine Art Stellplatz.

Google Street view

Wer genug Datenvolumen zur Verfügung hat, der hat mit Google Street View eine tolle Möglichkeit Stellplätze zu finden. Suche nach kleinen Straßen. Wenn sie nicht zu einem Haus führen, lohnt es sich vorbeizufahren.

Frag Einheimische

Einheimische kennen die Gegend und kennen versteckte Plätze an denen es niemanden juckt, ob dort jemand campt.

Frag andere Camper

Von vielen meiner Spots habe ich durch andere Reisende erfahren. Die Gemeinschaft teilt gerne. 

Erkunde!

Bei all den Apps und Tipps sind die besten Orte die, die man selbst findet. Halte die Augen offen und finde deine eigenen Orte!

Strand, Wanderpfad, Wald, Hafen

All diese vier Orte erwarten Tagesbesucher. Über Nacht sind die Parkplätze leer und meistens stört es niemanden, wenn du hier schläfst.

Wenn nichts klappt

Komme spät, fahre früh. Supermarktparkplätze oder Parkplätze von Einkaufszentren, Parkplätze in der Stadt oder einfach am Straßenrand: wenn du spät ankommst und früh wieder fährst bevor dich jemand (die Polizei) bemerkt, sollte es niemanden stören.

Klopf Klopf

Wenn du dein Bestes gegeben hast und dennoch jemand an dein Fenster klopft in der Nacht, hab keine Angst. Leute die klopfen, wollen dir nichts böses. Meistens sagen sie dir nur höflich zu gehen.

Wild camping is prohibited almost everywhere in Europe. Many countries have high fees for wildcamping, I haven't heard about anyone getting one, though. To not get into trouble while staying somewhere overnight you should follow the 6 golden rules of wild camping. 

If you promise to do that, you're allowed to read the next part where I share my secrets of finding a free overnight parking almost everywhere I go.

Tips how to find a wild camping spot

The easiest way to find a free spot is this app. it is really helpful, especially in cities or touristy regions. For a long time I wrote here: "don't forget to share new spots" - but now I have a different opinion. Keep cool spots a secret. Once online, you can't delete them anymore and it will be run over by respectless camper.

maps.me

Is an offline map which also offers navigation. Interesting for wild campers is the option for searching for a parking. Many of those carparks are potential overnight spots. If there is no parking, I search for brown dashed lines, which mark hikingtrails. Where a hiking trail meets a street is often some kind of parking.

Google Street view

If you don't have to save on your data, Google Street view is a great opportunity to find places to camp. Search for small roads, if they don't lead to a house, it's worth to check out the place.

Ask locals

Local people know carparks where noone I've a sh** about people camping there or not. They also know the best spots or maybe some secret places tourists don't know about.

Ask other campers

Most of my spots I got by talking to other travellers. The community loves to share.

Though all the apps and tips the best places are the ones you find yourself. Open your eyes and find your own wild camping spots.

All those four have people arriving by car during the day and leaving for the night. Most times no one bothers if you stay there overnight.

If nothing helps

Arrive late, leave early. Carparks of supermarkets and shopping malls, city parking or just parking lots at streets, if you arrive in the dark and leave in the morning before people (or police) start noticing you, no one will bother.

Knock knock

If you did all your best and still someone knocks at your window in the night, don't worry. People who knock don't want to do you any harm. Most times they just ask politely to leave.
